When to choose an electrical projection screen over a manual projector screen
When to choose an electrical projector screen rather than a manual screen?
A manual projector screen is a good start for any home cinema or meeting room. When is it better to choose to an electrical projector screen?
1.
When you use the projector screen on a daily basis.
Apart from the convenience, the electrical projector screen will suffer less from the daily strain of rolling out.
2.
When the lowest point of your projector screen is just above your equipment rack when rolled out.
You always need a bit of clearance to pull the screen down when rolling it in. An electrical screen can be set to stop exactly where you want it, every single time. In this case, an electrical projector screen is more convenient and there is less danger of damaging your equipment on the rack.
3.
When you screen is mounted in a high position
. If your screen is mounted on a high position on the wall or close to the ceiling, it might be too high up to actually pull down or roll in. An electrical projection screen is more convenient and much easier to operate.
4.
When you need a very large screen.
Very large projection screens are also very high, making it impossible to roll them in completely if it was a manual screen.
5.
When you want to have everything controlled by remote or a control system
. If you want the convenience of controlling your screen, without having to get out of your chair, an electrical screen is your only option.
6.
If you really want to make an impression
. A reason not to underestimate is the WOW-factor of a projection screen rolling down at the press of a button. Better yet, have the complete system triggered by a macro on your universal remote or control system.
